On purpose, the body
became the teacher.

I lost my dad at 11. A father is your sense of stability and safety. Without that, it is sink or swim. Your nervous system is in fight or flight, looking for the next danger. You either become capable or you crumble. For years I did both. I hid in alcohol and drugs because I did not even know what I was processing.

The one constant was progress. Skateboarding. Martial arts. Training. I noticed that learning a movement taught me how to learn anything, and that confidence spread into every area of my life.

Then one night at my own house party, 2am, alcohol everywhere, I saw the contrast between the old life and what was possible. I was done. The voice that said one more, get more, have more got reassigned a new role. Learn more. Create more. Be more. That was 14 years ago.

I have spent my life since studying how men actually change. Not through talking alone. Through the body, the most undeniable feedback mechanism there is. Through other men on the same mission. Through standards, which means saying what you are going to do and doing it.
Wildman exists because this is the stuff my dad never had. I wish he did.
What the men say.
"When you see your teammates suffering as much as you are, some even more, it's like, what's your excuse?"
"I went in believing it would happen, and the body just responded. If the mind can see it, the body finds a way."
"I've missed my little girl like crazy. But she'll get a better version of me when I go back."
"I've never experienced a coach with the ability to lead people through very difficult challenges but not break them. He knows their pace, what pushes them to the edge, and takes them to a place where they grow."
